To tell you a bit about ourselves, my husband Cary and I have been involved with Airedales for ~30 years. We have participated in all Airedale activities – obedience, hunting trials, tracking and agility, and in our opinion they are all around great dogs! Several have titles in these events. We breed infrequently (a litter every year or so) and only when we have requests for puppies or are looking for the next up and coming show dog. Our dogs are American and/or Canadian Champions and thus conform to breed standard. Temperament and health are very important to us as all our dogs are house dogs and must get along with each other and with other dogs. We only breed dogs that have been screened free of hip dysplasia by the Orthopedic Foundation of America (OFA) or Pennhip. Although our dogs are raised in the house, they experience multiple outside activities including daily walks on mowed paths within our 43 acres of grassland and free run of our fenced 2 acre paddock. They are exposed to wildlife early on as our property is teeming with quail, pheasant, deer, turkey and a few badgers for good measure! We try keep them away from the badger holes and (unsuccessfully) skunks!
